Somatic Leadership Coaching

Leadership Coaching: In Greater Depth

Please read about Somatics, the methodology, and who I work with here. Through somatic leadership coaching, you can expect to gain tools for navigating challenges, learn practices for responding to pressures, and embody a new leadership shape.

In a professional context, you may work towards somatic goals such as:

  • navigate conflict with integrity and competence

  • engage in transitions with openness and grounding

  • deepen authentic connection with colleagues

  • align with your purpose and values

  • receive and make centered requests and declines

  • move through grief and emotional stress

Your work on your commitment will impact many parts of your life from your own leadership, your engagement with your colleagues, partners and those you serve, while also impacting personal parts of your life as well.

With my background in non-profit leadership positions including team and project management for over 10 years, I take this partnership with you very seriously. I understand the pressures you are facing, the decisions you have to make, and the micro and macro responsibilities you are holding. I work with anyone in a professional capacity, regardless of ‘level’.

Sessions Overview

To move through the Arc of Transformation, I work with clients for ten 60-minute sessions minimum. This is to hold the rigor of the theory in moving through somatic awareness, somatic opening, and somatic practices. This transformation takes time, new skill and committed practice. Sessions typically start off weekly for a few sessions as we gain momentum, and then move into every two weeks, lasting about 4 months. For greater impact, in between sessions, I encourage clients to practice the new practices to facilitate lasting and sustainable change.

In each of our sessions, we’ll figure out what you’d like to focus on, then likely engage in a partner somatic practice, and close out with learnings. I may also include bodywork, song, or ritual into our sessions if this is something you would like.

It’s a beautiful and transformative process! Read more below.

  • Location & Access

IN-PERSON: My office is in the living room of my old beautiful home located near downtown Ann Arbor (pictured above), where we may also use my backyard or back deck if relevant. If you are local, I request that we have all sessions in-person to deepen the practices, with exceptions for travel or illness, when we can hold sessions over Zoom if able.

VIRTUAL: For those outside of the Ann Arbor area, I’d love to work with you! I offer sessions over Zoom and the practices can work well through this format as well. Please know that I can have clients from anywhere .

ACCESS: My house includes 2 steps up to get in and the bathroom is on the 2nd floor. My cat, Buddy, loves to visit clients (with consent) which can be a beautiful addition to the experience, though unfortunately would not be a good fit if you’re severely allergic to cats (unless you’re able and would like to wear a mask). Please reach out with any questions.

  • Cost & Pricing

COST: For the sessions themselves, I offer a sliding scale option of $125-$225 per session in recognition that your organization’s access to resources vary. The actual cost of each session is $175. After our initial conversation, I will send a proposal of hours of work and type of work required including any additional meetings with your colleagues for goal-alignment and/or assessment inquiry.

I offer the scale to support those with less financial access, and to encourage those with more access to “pay it forward” for others. I will work with your organization for the best payment plans.

As a SELF-EMPLOYED person, I have to pay for health insurance, emergency planning, business expenses, professional development, time-off, taxes, etc. myself, so the cost may be higher than if I were cushioned by an institution. I know it can be incredibly hard to decide how to spend one’s money; thank you for considering me - I truly believe you won’t regret it.

  • Starting & More

TO START: Please book a no-charge 20-30 min Exploratory Call so that we can connect to see if it’s a good fit. You’re welcome to ask me more questions about somatics, myself, or my practice during that time, and I’d love to hear a bit more about your intention and curiosity for what you’re looking for. Please do check out these pages in advance of our time: Somatics, About, Lineages. Thank you!

SCHEDULING: Once we’ve connected through a Call and decided to move forward, I’ll have you schedule your consistent session times - starting off weekly, then bi-weekly. You’ll be charged 24 hours after your session.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Due to being self-employed and need for financial sustainability, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy unless there is an emergency which we’d determine together; I’ll charge for the full session if the session is missed.

What Clients Are Saying…

“My coaching experience with Anna was revelatory. Anna provided a unique combination of deeply politicized wisdom, insight, validation, and skill to her somatic coaching. She asked powerful questions, and equipped me with a toolbox of somatic practices that are unlike anything I've received in traditional executive coaching. In each session, Anna guided me toward a somatic practice that both grounded me, and moved me towards my stated aim. These practices have become an integral part of my day to day life. Anna helped me transform my overwhelm into grounded presence, and her coaching supported me with tenderness and care during a time of significant transition.” —A.P.
